About

Hello! My name is Patricia. I’m a realist and a fan of simple living and mindful eating.

New Bloggy Cat (NBC) is a mixed bag of all the things in life that matter – quotes, epigrams, life-lessons, tributes, anecdotes, jokes and delish recipes that I believe would make a memorable and priceless gift for my two daughters.

I’m at the age where I just like to keep it real and enjoy the simple pleasures in life such as a cup of brew coffee and a good book. And I’ve never been more comfortable just being me and loving myself. I no longer wish to have bigger eyes with double eyelids or to be at least 5 inches taller. I’m passionate about art, books, food, ideas, comedy, beaches, movies, homemade stuff and all furry creatures big and small.

Life isn’t picture perfect. In fact, my life is far from perfect. There were days when things got really nutty, messy and chaotic and I just want to scream. But it’s the reality of life with a meticulous hubby and two gorgeous but very demanding daughters. One is perspicacious and the other vivacious. I love my perfectly imperfect family. With them around, there is never a dull moment and certainly no shortage of melodrama.

My eldest daughter just turned 17 in November. She is an artsy gal and an aspiring young artist. She’s a talented bass guitarist and a huge fan of rock music and loves bands such as MCR, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, The Cure and Rolling Stones.

She has always been cool, calm and collected. And she is capable of great focus, which comes in handy when completing pretty much any task.  It’s interesting to see the way she embraces solitude and connect with her innermost thoughts and rich inner worlds.

Here’s one of her drawings using charcoal…

And a recent drawing using pen…

My second daughter is 12 years old.  She makes a great youtuber, chef, barista or make up artist. She’a fashionista and a foodie. She’s great in baking and cooking too. She can cook a delish Kimchi fried rice and make the fluffiest pancakes.

We have two pets at home though the girls would love to have more.

Prince is a Belgian Malinois and he’s 8-month old (born on 7.7.23). He’s the most cheerful and energetic dog that I ever had.

Kiwi is Shaye’s pet budgie aka mom’s favorite child. And he’s the sweetest thing ever. He loves to sing and a huge fan of rock songs.

Thank you for dropping by, liking my post and following my blog. If you are a mom, may God bless you with overflowing buckets of love, joy, peace, laughter and may your heart be filled with loads of patience. (✿◠‿◠)

  5. Hi Pat,
Thank you very much for visiting my blog and your very warm and encouraging feedback. I could use a few overflowing buckets of love, joy, peace and patience dealing with my kids at the moment. The ups and downs of parenting…all within the same day…can be rather perplexing but rewarding, enriching and the stuff that makes you tear your hair out.
Blessing to you and your family,
    Rowena

    • It’s a pleasure, Rowena. Yes, the ups and downs of parenting. I always joke that whenever I feel like I’m going insane it’s time to prepare the next meal for my family. Blessings to you and family too, Pat ʕ•́ᴥ•̀ʔっ

  7. Until our recent chain of comments over on Victo’s blog, I was unaware of your blog. I don’t know how I’ve missed it, but I’m making up for it now. I’ll be following you so I don’t miss future stories.

Also, I have chosen you as one of my nine blogs in That’s So Jacob’s Ninth Month Blog Challenge (http://www.thatssojacob.wordpress.com)! I challenge you to find nine blogs you find interesting and give them a comment to brighten their day…well, eight other blogs and mine 🙂 Copy this message in your comment and enjoy your new blog friends!

There is absolutely no obligation, of course – accept the challenge or not, as you wish – but if you happen to find new blogs to follow, that’s always a plus.

BTW, I noticed that you’ve liked or commented on a number of the posts on my blog. In appreciation, I hereby award you the Cordelia’s Mom Enthusiasm Award: http://cordeliasmomstill.com/2014/07/31/award-fu-follow-up-you-smut-minded-people/

  12. Very sweet children, dear Patricia 🙂
Thanks also for sharing a good portion of humor which I like too – there are many serious things in life that do not make us love and smile, but they’re also many things which put a positive strain on our facial muscles (and abdominal muscles), as well as our mental muscles which make us laugh and smile.
    Thank you, my friend 🙂
Have a great time, although in these difficult times we are facing right now.
