Natural remedies for piles or hemorrhoids

Piles is simply small amounts of swollen tissue found in the rectum or visible on the anus. Piles or hemorrhoids is a common complaint for many people mainly caused from a poor diet and lack of exercise which may lead to chronic constipation and other bowel disorders.

Below are two natural remedies that are really effective:

1. Eat a small papaya and chew a tablespoon of papaya seed everyday.

2. If rice is a staple food for you, then boil the rice together with some spinach roots (chopped finely). But make sure the spinach roots are washed thoroughly.

Sitting down can be really painful when you have piles, so to relieve the pain sit on a round inflatable float.

If you are aching from a workout, add a teaspoon of powdered ginger to your bath. This helps soothe sore muscles. You will smell great and get rosy glow.

An alternative method is to boil a pot of water with lots of sliced ginger for a about 15 minutes. Let it cool (until it’s just nice and warm) and then remove the ginger with a strainer. Dampen a small towel in the ginger water and rub all aver your body. Wait for a few minutes then rinse your body with warm water.

How to get rid of headache fast

Studies have shown that if you are taking aspirin for a headache, wash it down with a glass of cola. The caffeine will help the pain medication work faster. It may also fight the headache directly by relaxing the constricted blood vessels in the head. Just remember not to go overboard. Too much caffeine can trigger a rebound headache.

How to cure eczema

Eczema is a chronic skin condition in which the skin becomes itchy, reddened, cracked and dry. Eczema can be triggered by certain foods or by substances that come in contact with the skin such as soaps, clothing, cosmetics and detergents.

I’ve had eczema on my hands since I was a teenager. I have tried all kinds of home remedies to reduce the terrible redness, itching and painful skin cracking of this very unpleasant skin condition. About a year ago I read a book on guidelines on safe and healthy eating and it suggests that by consuming 3 cups of oolong tea a day would help relieve the symptoms of eczema. It is believed that the polyphenols found in the tea act as antioxidant and suppress allergic responses.

Since then I have been drinking oolong tea everyday and this is the best remedy that works for my eczema.

Home remedy for kids cough

Yesterday I posted a home remedy for cough using coke and ginger.  This remedy works for me but not for my 6 year old daughter.  This morning she woke up with a persistent cough.  I was reading through some health articles and came across this home remedy and thought it is worth a try.  Though my daughter hated the taste, I made her swallow 4 teaspoons of this mixture.  I am really amazed how quickly she stopped coughing and I thought I should share this amazing remedy.

The recipe is from Herbally Yours by Penny C. Royal, 3rd Edition, June 1982. It seems to work for all kinds of coughs but especially for that dry  cough that keeps you awake at night.

It’s worth a try if you or your kids have that persistent cough.  Here’s the recipe.

 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
 1 Tablespoon honey
 1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar
 2 Tablespoons water

Mix and take by the teaspoon.
