there is ‘by myself, nobody, just me’ and then there are unknown, but labeled until further know, Nobodies – alas, for myself, the first time I heard it ‘splained this way – was, SIGH! A Country and western Song, from long ago, in a different era, and changing ‘concepts’ of vows, marriage, etc., as I came of age and looked forward to the day I would meet my one and only, my soul mate, my life long partner I was raised to believe was out there, even as I was expected to be a bread winner, career woman, have my own ‘nest egg’ and a way out should others that didn’t keep vows/promises/responsibilities/duty like I was raised to, on all fronts covered by the mentors I had in ‘wife, mother, sister, daughter, work colleague’ land – LOL
It’s horrible overall, the video – i.e. in way it depicts that age of music, in that genre, music video made, but …um, it is a part of my past – AND – well – when I read the word “Nobody” I swear to goodness!
My brain faithfully retrieves the past, and serves it up, without fail, the music, the lyrics, the era, the changes in norms/expectations, etc… LOL. So, just sharing my ‘insta-recall’ NOBODY – version of things – whether it has any relevance to your post or not – just my lil way of trying to pass on past eras, and what played out around me, not in my control, that affected me/my life path – LOL
Seems as if EVERYONE in my life, on all fronts, digital and real, are plagued by “Nobodies” anymore – for services, marketing calls, and cheaters, even IF it’s just personal/work needs – so I’ve been thinking, for myself, on many changing fronts, about “Nobodies” for awhile – including – – – AI – – until it get’s more grown up and declares itself as a living entity that can survive sans human built infrastructure to house it – LOL
Ahh..thanks for sharing. Yeah the soulmate thing got us all screwed 😜😅. Think first we need to accept and love ourselves. Told the girls they don’t need a man to complete them 😅. Btw, can’t play the video. It’s ok…I’ll look it up. 😻🌈
I’ll remember to, instead of sharing a link to video, just give ya name of song, artist, and year of publication – so if you wish to listen/look at lyrics, etc., ya can – LOL. But yeah – the overall message isn’t just for girls – My brother, uncle to my sons, told my sons during their ‘visit bachelor uncle and have fun without mom/girls around to tell us to eat right, clean up our mess, be careful, wear a helmet’ etc., stuff, he told them over and over and over, “You need to know how to do the dishes, run a load of laundry – clean the house, pick up after yourself – ain’t no way, no how – it’s some ‘woman’s job’ to do that for ya, unless she offers/wants to show her appreciation of you and what you do”. And don’t you DARE go looking for a girlfriend/wife when all ya really want is a cook/maid/housekeeper” – – which is why – overall? me and my brother get along and hold the space for us each to be ourselves – 😀
