Ikigai – the Japanese way

happy
In Japan, there’s one word
that sums up the reason for being.
And that word is “Ikigai“.
Ikigai” is the reason
you get up in the morning,
to live and enjoy your life
with passion and purpose.

Keep Looking Up – NBC

NBC is 5 today!

animated-birthday-cake

I can’t believe how quickly time has passed. Β Today is exactly 5 years since I started blogging.Β  I was looking for a new hobby and thought it would be awesome to have an online journal. Β A place where I can share my a little about my life, random stuff, quotes or humor with the world.
Blogging has also been a wonderful platform for me to express myself and share my deepest thoughts and wishes which are buried deep within.Β You know, some things in life are so mind-boggling.
Sydelle who was then only 6-year old suggested the name ‘New Bloggy Cat’ for my blog. Β She adores cats and she even drew me this picture for my profile.

Two years later when she was 8, she drew another picture for me which still remained as my profile picture.

My two daughters have been and still are my biggest inspiration when it comes to blogging.Β  And Shaye, my 6-year old use to say β€˜Blob’ instead of β€˜Blog’ when she was younger. I loved the way she asked me, β€œMom, are you going to post something on your blob?Β β€œ

What I’ve learned these past 5 years is that…
…there are so many wonderful bloggers out there who are unbelievably talented when it comes to sharing their passion.Β
…it is okay to make grammar mistakes because it’s all part of the learning process.
…it does not matter how many people clicked the ‘like’ button on my post or how many are following my blog. It is not about the numbers but the passion for blogging.
…blogging does not have to be for monetary gain. Β I once Β suggested to a friend to start a blog and she said to me, “I will not do anything for free.”Β  Β  But I believe she’s missing out on the priceless gift and joy of just blogging for fun.
…blogging is therapeutic and it makes me happy. Β It keeps me going and growing.
Thank you all for being part of my wonderful blogging experience! Β
~Keep looking up, my friends!~
