Some choose to hide the ugly truth
with a beautiful lie.
But only the truth will set us free.
May we all fly free and enjoy the peace within.

Quote of the day – Santosh Kalwar
“I was smiling yesterday,
I am smiling today and
I will smile tomorrow.
Simply because
life is too short
to cry for anything.”
― Santosh Kalwar
“So far, about morals, I know only that
what is moral is what you feel good after and
what is immoral is what you feel bad after.”
― Ernest Hemingway (Death in the Afternoon)

Living for others …
…is the rule of nature!
Nothing in the nature lives for itself.
Rivers don’t drink their own water.
Trees don’t eat their own fruit.
Sun doesn’t give heat to itself.
Flowers don’t spread fragrance for themselves.

World Peace & Harmony
Remembering 9/11
World Peace & Harmony
– Shyamli Suneesh
Peace is glory, peace is dignity,
peace is love and peace is amity.
Birds fly freely high up in the blue sky,
Flowers bloom and cherish when spring arrives.
Dews settle on leaves with deliberate happiness,
As bees buzz excited around their hives.
Why aren’t we as happy as they are?
So free, so elated
and no complaints at all.
Take the morning paper in your hand
and you’d find destruction all over land,
going around in evil bands
making peace and harmony banned.
War, conflict and destruction everywhere
arresting our accord even while asleep
Oh! God now is so very rare
And is peace today that hard to keep?
People are killed
every now and then.
Oh! Isn’t there anyone who’s skilled,
to place the eminent gem
of tranquility and unity.
I woke up today morning,
to enjoy Mother Breeze.
She says if we’d stop roaring
and take everything with ease,
we’d surely succeed in gaining world peace
As trees and flowers sway
and the wind runs over my face
It brings in a new ray of hope
that world peace can still return
“May the World Live in Peace and Harmony”
Lagom – the Swedish way
Pronounced ‘lah gom’ – this Swedish way of life is about things being ‘just enough’ or ‘just right’ – something that’s neither too much of one thing , nor too much of the other but somewhere in between.
Finding balance is the key to this concept which is rooted deep in the Swedish psyche. It permeates all aspects of life. Along with the idea of balance in all things, there is also a conscious unselfishness about lagom.
If you feel like there’s just too much to do or modern life is too busy and goal-focused, you may want to adopt this attractive mindset and strive to be simply good enough or just enough.
“Let’s go home now, Kakashi.”
“Ahh….just nice.”
“Two pets are perfect for now – Candy (Pug) and Kakashi “
“We’re neither good dogs nor bad dogs – just okay dogs.”
“Two cookies are enough for me, mom”
A wise old owl sat on an oak
The more he saw the less he spoke
The less he spoke the more he heard
Why aren’t we like that wise old bird?
– Charles Schulz
“Life isn’t all fricasseed frogs and eel pie.”
― C.S. Lewis, The Silver Chair
Remembering dad on his 85th birthday
Dear Dad,
I’m sending birthday wishes to you today
all the way up to the sky.
And reminiscing the simple things
you enjoyed or made you glad like
… a cup of tea in the afternoon
… reading
(You loved to read both English and Chinese books. And I remember returning some books to the rental shop after your passing)
.
.. singing church hymns
(You were still singing to the gospel songs in the car even at the final stage of cancer)
… making chapati
(Indian flat bread)
.
.. bringing home a new puppy.
… lending a helping hand to friend or stranger
Happy 85th Birthday, Dad!
Much love …
Dare to fly fast and free just like the dragonfly…
and may you find joy and new light.
